There's sorrow in the news today.
Former Beatle, John Lennon was shot and fatally wounded last night.
The murder occurred about 10:50 p.m. in front of his residence in Manhattan, New York Police reported.
25-year-old, Mark Chapman, a fan of Lennon, shot him several times and was then immediately apprehended.
The cause of the shooting is still unclear.
Lennon and his wife, Yoko Ono, were returning home to the Dakoda Apartments after working on a new album in a New York recording studio.
Some witnesses say, Chapman was seen roaming around the front of Lennon's apartment for several hours, apparently waiting for Lennon.
Once again, in the news, John Lennon, dead at the age of 40.
